Marathon filters
When the internal combustion engine started serious development around the late 1800s and very early 1900s, little-to-no consideration was made toward the filtering or cleaning of the lubricant that was being used, which obviously meant that the early engines and lubricants had relatively short lifespans
Some early filtration systems may simply have been a wire mesh plate that was expected to keep larger particles out of the lubricant
It wasn't until the early 1920s that the first form of oil filter made its appearance, perhaps similar to what we today may recognise as the old oil bath type filtration system
It took a further 30 odd years for the first Closed, screw on type filter to be developed, with some engine manufacturers only adopting a fixed filtration system to their vehicles as late as the 1970s
Today we offer a vast range of Filters to protect any number of Automobiles and Machines , filtering the Engine air, Cabin air, Engine oil, Hydraulic oil and Fuel that keep these machines going in some of the toughest conditions
Our primarily supplied product ar Donaldson filters
